About Meleanie Walker
Hi! Kia ora, Namaste, Ni hao, Kia orana, Talofa lava, Malo elelei, and warm greetings from Wainuiomata! I often get asked by friends, clients, and colleagues what makes me tick as a real estate agent. My answer to that is surprisingly simple. I care very deeply about the people in my life, and that absolutely includes my clients! It gives me enormous satisfaction to see you delighted by the service you’ll get from me as your real estate agent, settled in a new house you love and ready to make it your home sweet home. My personal values strongly guide my professional life. I encourage you to take a look at the testimonials on my website www.meleaniewalker.com from my former clients. You’ll benefit from my integrity, loyalty, and an unrelenting cheerfulness! Along with a practical, efficient and enthusiastic working style, I offer my clients down-to-earth professionalism. What to know a little more about me? First things first! I’m a proud single Mum to my wonderful children Callum (20) and Accalia (17). Watching them grow up into brave and talented young adults is my crowning achievement. I’m also ‘Kiwi Mum’ to the international students who regularly board with me, and I have two adored and pampered fur babies Sumo (Bichon Frise) and Skipper (rescue cat). Growing up, my family moved around the lower North Island a fair bit. My early years were spent in Fielding and so I benefitted from a childhood lived largely outdoors and feel very fortunate to have had that experience. Later on, my family moved to Lower Hutt and then eventually I settled in Wainuiomata. I love the lifestyle, the great outdoors, and most of all our close-knit, and vibrant multicultural community! I’ve been active in the community since my children were in primary school, and consider it a privilege and a responsibility to support my local community. I’m a dedicated member of the Wainuiomata Wine Club (Wellington’s oldest, and celebrating 40 years in 2020), and have been a former member of the Wainui Museum Society, a primary school volunteer, and Scout leader. I enjoy an active and busy social life with my partner Mark (a rugby and netball-playing public servant who commutes daily to Wellington’s CBD). We love lawn bowls, board gaming, health and fitness, and socializing with our wide circle of friends. Life isn’t always easy raising children on your own, but it’s made me resilient, empathetic, tenacious, and community-minded. I’m able to roll my sleeves up when the going gets tough and focus on what needs to be done. I also know first-hand how stressful moving into a new house can be, along with settling kids into new schools and integrating into a community. It’s a major life event that can be unsettling and extremely stressful. That’s why my priority as your real estate agent is to go the extra mile to make your experience as stress-free, and smooth as possible. If you are considering buying or selling in Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, or the wider Wellington region, feel free to get in touch to find out more about how I can help you with your next property ladder move!
